Coin collectors converge in Nevada for annual event.

The Las Vegas Numismatic Society predicts a large turnout at its 51st
annual coin show in Las Vegas on April 4-6. Over 3,000 visitors and 300
dealers attended the 2013 show, and the society expects an even greater
crowd at this year’s event, which will be held at the Palace Station Hotel
and Casino at 2411 West Sahara Street.
On Saturday, April 5, silver dollar experts and authors will present a “Silver
Dollar Seminar” at 12:15 p.m. The panel will include John Highfill, who
founded the National Silver Dollar Roundtable and wrote the
Comprehensive U.S. Silver Dollar Encyclopedia; and C. Logan McKechnie,
who has identified scores of silver dollar varieties and authors the
VAMView Annual Price Guide. Also heading the seminar are silver dollar
specialists Jeff Oxman (Carson City Morgan Dollars: Coins of the GSA
Hoard) and Mark Witkower (Official Guide to the 1878 Reverse of ’79
Varieties).
ANACS, America’s oldest coin authentication and grading service, will
accept submissions on-site throughout the three-day event, Children are
invited to attend a young numismatics program and Boy Scout “Coin
